Everyone knows somebody who sticks with an automaker for life. You probably have a friend who only buys Ford trucks, SUVs, and sedans and wouldn’t think to buy outside the brand. Fierce brand loyalty is common among Chevrolet purchasers too. A common thread between companies like this is the loyal customers are often truck buyers.
With the recent renaissance of interest in the Ram line of trucks in recent years, the same thing can be seen for fans of the Ram 1500 and Ram Heavy Duty trucks. Ram and Ram parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) can back up the claim of high customer loyalty with an award.
IHS Markit awards car companies with an “Automotive Loyalty Award” based on vehicle purchases for a household resulting in another vehicle purchase or lease of the same make, model, or at least the same manufacturer.
For the 2019 year, the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 were recognized together as having the highest model loyalty among pickup trucks. Other FCA models joined the Ram trucks, including the Chrysler Pacifica as the highest model loyalty among minivans, and the Jeep® Grand Cherokee as the highest model loyalty for SUVs. These three awards side-by-side meant FCA was the most awarded for the 2019 model year.
